KADIN Indonesia Champions Digital Transformation for Members with eduCLaaS Partnership

SHARE THIS:

Jakarta, Indonesia – June 5, 2024 – Kadin Indonesia prioritizes accelerating digitalization for its members through a strategic partnership with eduCLaaS. KADIN recognizes the progress but emphasizes the need for continuous improvement in both the quality and sustainability of digital adoption among its members.

Established in 1968, KADIN Indonesia serves as the sole parent organization for Indonesian businesses, encompassing state-owned enterprises, cooperatives, and private companies. KADIN boasts an extensive network of business associations across all sectors and regions, making them a powerhouse for trade, investment, and business activities.
eduCLaaS steps in as a cloud-based education platform offering Competency Learning as a Service (CLaaS). Unlike basic digital education, eduCLaaS focuses on a competency-based curriculum, work-based learning, and blended learning approaches. eduCLaaS bridges the digital skills gap in Asia, and since its arrival in Indonesia (2018), it has collaborated with universities to produce job-ready graduates equipped with digital soft skills. In 2022, eduCLaaS launched an enterprise unit specifically catering to Indonesian industries. The crucial year of 2023 saw eduCLaaS and Kadin sign a “Member KADIN Go Digital” MoU to develop and implement digital transformation initiatives for KADIN members.

Leslie Loh, CEO of eduCLaaS, emphasizes the critical role of digital transformation in the digital economy. “Digital transformation is crucial for businesses to face the digital economy,” said Leslie Loh. “In an increasingly inclusive digital economy, digitalization helps businesses optimize operations, enhance efficiency, expand their reach, create new markets and opportunities, and is expected to become part of the global value chain. This is where KADIN’s role becomes very strategic in enabling its members to advance and compete globally.”
KADIN Indonesia and eduCLaaS have already begun rolling out digital workshops for members. A recent example is the Digital Marketing and Content Marketing workshop held in Solo as part of the Solo Great Sale 2024. KADIN, alongside KADIN Kota Surakarta, demonstrated their commitment to empowering businesses, particularly MSMEs in the Soloraya area. The joint effort involved exhibitions, promotions of MSME products and tourist destinations, and culminating in a series of digital workshops with eduCLaaS and the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Registry (PANDI). 100 selected KADIN MSME members participated in these workshops.
Ferry S. Indrianto, Chairman of KADIN Surakarta, highlighted the workshop’s role in supporting the “Let’s Join Kadin” program. His goal is to elevate KADIN Soloraya members by leveraging digital technology. Indrianto emphasizes that digitalization empowers MSMEs, enhances competitiveness, and ultimately contributes to local economic growth. “This workshop also aims to support the ‘Let’s Join KADIN’ program so that KADIN Soloraya members can elevate their status by leveraging digital technology,” said Ferry S. Indrianto. “Through digitalization, we can elevate MSMEs to a higher level, enhance competitiveness, and ultimately contribute to local economic growth.”
The workshops covered various topics, including introductions to digitalization, creating and managing online stores, and crafting effective digital marketing strategies through social media and other digital tools. eduCLaaS provided materials on Digital Marketing and Content Marketing, along with offering in-depth consultations to help participants overcome digitalization challenges.
eduCLaaS plans to expand into the enterprise and conglomerate market this year, according to Leslie Loh. Their vision extends beyond digital transformation training; they aim to cultivate talent with strong soft skills and job readiness. eduCLaaS aspires to become the leading partner for companies seeking digital transformation support in the digital economy, fostering collaboration between the government, education sector, and private businesses.

Juggling college classes and an internship can be both exciting and challenging. Managing assignments, studying, and working as an intern requires careful planning. We have some tips for managing your time, staying organized in both academic and professional:
1. Plan Your Time
Good time management is crucial. Prioritize your tasks and plan your week. Use tools like Google Calendar or ClickUp to keep track of your schedule and deadlines.
  • Weekly Planning: Spend 30 minutes every Sunday evening planning your week.
  • Daily To-Do Lists: Write down tasks for each day and break big projects into smaller steps.
2. Set Realistic Goals
Your education is important. Stay committed to your studies and aim to do well in your classes. Balancing both school and your internship requires discipline, but it is worth it.
  • Break Down Tasks: Divide large projects into smaller, manageable tasks. Set realistic deadlines for each part. This approach prevents overwhelming and helps you stay focused.
  • SMART Goals: Make your goals Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example, instead of saying, “I’ll finish my research paper,” set a goal like, “I’ll complete the introduction by Friday.”
3. Get Your Priorities Right
You cannot do everything, and that is okay. Learn to prioritize tasks and say no to things that do not align with your goals. By getting your priorities right, you ensure that your time and energy are focused on what truly matters, and helping you make meaningful progress toward your objectives.
Quick Tips:
  • Set Boundaries: Clearly define what you can and cannot commit to.
  • Choose Wisely: Pick activities that align with your goals. Evaluate each opportunity based on how well it fits with your long-term objectives and immediate priorities.
  • Breakdown Tasks: Divide larger projects into smaller, manageable tasks. Prioritize these tasks based on their urgency and importance.
4. Stay Flexible
Both college and internships can be unpredictable. Be ready to adapt and change your plans when needed. Flexibility will help you handle challenges and keep moving forward.
Quick Tips:
  • Have Backup Plans: Plan for what you will do if things do not go as expected.
  • Be Open-Minded: Be willing to change your strategies based on feedback and circumstances.
5. Take Care of Yourself
Balancing an internship and college can be stressful. Make sure you take care of your health by sleeping well, eating healthily, and exercising. Taking breaks is important too.
Quick Tips
  • Get Enough Sleep: Lack of sleep affects your productivity and overall well-being. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.
  • Eat Well and Exercise: Safeguarding data from unauthorized access.

6. Get feedback
Always seek feedback from professors, friends, and your internship supervisor. Use their advice to improve your performance in both areas. Being open to suggestions is key to getting better.
Quick Tips:
  • Conduct Check-Ins: Regularly ask for feedback from your internship supervisor.
  • Engage with Professors: Discuss your progress with professors for insights and tips.

Overcoming Skills Shortage Issues & Level Up Your Business

Overcoming Skills Shortage Issues & Level Up Your Business

SHARE THIS:

What is a skills shortage?
Skills shortage refers to a condition in which there are insufficient number of skilled professionals within a specific field or industry. Whether in technology, healthcare, manufacturing, or other fields, the repercussions of skill shortages are felt deeply, making organizations seek solutions for bridging this gap.
Statistics on Skills Shortage Experience
In the last six years, more than 50% of the global organizations surveyed by Statista have consistently faced a skills shortage, which delayed their business growth. The decline in skills shortages observed among businesses in 2020 was believed to be caused by the disruptive effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Nevertheless, by 2023, 54% of organizations continued to struggle with skills shortage, especially in the tech department.
How can a Skills Shortage Occur?

Skills shortage can be caused by various factors. As stated by edyoucated, some of them may include:

  • The fast pace of technological advancements might surpass the ability of educational institutions in providing individuals with the latest, sought-after skills.
  • Outdated curriculum and limited educational resources can lead to a future workforce that lacks the skills required in today’s rapidly evolving job landscape.
  • The globalization of the job market means that skilled workers can be recruited from around the world, which intensifies the competition for talent with in-demand skills.

It is very important to identify and address these factors to bridge the skills gap and ensure that your workforce can adapt to the evolving changes in the current digital world. The impact of ignoring these factors is significant, as it may result in rising employee costs, reduced productivity, hiring challenges, and competitively disadvantaged.

Ways to Overcome Skills Shortage Issue
Now that we’ve identified the causes and risks behind the skills shortage, how can you overcome this skills shortage issue? To help you out, we’ve compiled some key strategies from Morgan Hunt, tietalent, and randstad, in a way that would be relevant to your business and the digital landscape, which are:
  • 1. Embrace Modern Hiring Solutions
Adapting to the digital landscape isn’t limited to your sales operation, but also your hiring methods. Solely relying on traditional ways to acquire talents is simply not effective anymore. Some examples of modern hiring solutions would be hiring through talent acquisition platforms and digital job postings.
  • 2. Invest in upskilling
To address the shortage of skilled workers, many companies are providing training to their current employees to fill skill gaps. Some offer external training, which may be costly but ensures industry-standard skills are met. Smaller companies may find it challenging to afford external training but could instead practice in-house training, where knowledgeable employees would share with others their valuable expertise. This should lead to enhanced capabilities and increased performance.

Fun Fact: Take our clients as an example. With eduCLaaS Enterprise ClaaS@Work, we have successfully helped businesses in elevating their teams with the latest digital skills and capabilities, generating tangible results in the span of 90 days (approx. 3 months)!
  • 3. Consider using contingent workers
Contingent workers provide flexibility and quick solutions which fit various timeframes and budgets. However, note that overreliance on them may hinder long-term growth, as it doesn’t address the underlying causes of skills gaps. Which is why you should only consider contingent workers in urgent situations and ideally in non-frequent business projects.
  • 4. Create a diverse workforce
Creating diversity in your workforce can increase creativity and productivity in the workplace. Recruiting a workforce with a diverse set of skills, attributes, backgrounds and experiences extends your company’s talent pool, which can ultimately improve hiring outcomes.

Course

Conclusion

The impact of skills shortages across various industries highlights the critical need for businesses to proactively address this issue, especially with over half of global organizations experiencing skills shortage in recent years. Understanding the causes of skills shortage is important to implement effective strategies to bridge them, enabling your business to navigate the demands of the digital age successfully. Ignoring this issue poses a lot of risks. Therefore, putting in efforts to identify and act based on these factors is essential for long-term success in today’s dynamic business landscape.

To ensure your business stays ahead, book a 1:1 digitalization consultation today and start implementing effective solutions to overcome skills shortages.
