Finding a Purpose in Pixels; How Krisia Turned Her Hesitations to a Career
A Curious Mind with No Map
Not all journeys begin with a clear destination. For Krisia, the road to finding her calling was winding and uncertain—but filled with potential. A unique blend of analytical and artistic, she was the kind of student who could breeze through a Sudoku puzzle, then turn around and perfect a makeup look with equal enthusiasm. Her room? A curated collection of cute, girly keepsakes. Her mind? Always active, always questioning.
Growing up in a modest but stable household, Krisia learned early the importance of responsibility, hard work, and living within one’s means. Academically, she was ambitious and hopeful, often competing with herself to do better. But while her peers mapped out their futures with bold strokes—lawyer, doctor, engineer—Krisia found herself staring at a blank canvas. She wasn’t lost; she was searching for something that fit.
Lost in the Middle
Krisia’s journey through the maze of career options wasn’t without its dead ends. She looked into civil and chemical engineering but couldn’t find a spark strong enough to light her path forward. University seemed like the obvious next step, but the time, cost, and uncertainty of real-world preparedness made her hesitate.
The question loomed: What’s the point of a degree if it doesn’t guarantee the skills—or job—to back it up?
She wanted something more practical, more sustainable. Something that would allow her to learn, earn, and grow all at once. Yet, the idea of working and studying simultaneously was intimidating, especially without a clear direction. That’s when she discovered eduCLaaS.
The Breakthrough: Finding Her Place at eduCLaaS
For Krisia, eduCLaaS wasn’t just a program—it was a turning point. The work-study Bachelor’s Degree model offered the ideal balance between academic growth and financial independence. Enrolling in the software engineering track, she found herself immersed in a new world of code—HTML, CSS, JavaScript—all foreign at first, yet slowly becoming familiar.
The beginning wasn’t easy. The boot camp’s intensity left her feeling isolated, and teamwork didn’t come naturally. But she pushed through, driven by quiet determination, her mother’s unwavering support, and the encouragement of her mentors. Over time, each completed project became a testament to her resilience.
Code, Collaboration, and Confidence
Four months into her apprenticeship, Krisia is no longer the unsure student she once was. She’s grown into a capable developer-in-training, navigating both technical and personal growth. She’s now comfortable juggling weekend coursework with real-world work tasks, using tools like Power Apps and Power Platform with increasing skill.
“I can say that here in eduCLaaS, the learning doesn’t end. Because this month and the previous month, I just learned about the power apps, the power pages, all the power platforms.
I’m grateful for eduCLaaS and for their assistance. They’ve created some trainings. Our project leaders also helped us on how to integrate some things. I’m thankful for because I never felt like I’m left behind. They always taught me “What to do” or “How to do it”

Her proudest accomplishments include building functional websites from scratch, understanding full-stack development, and mastering the art of time management. Even soft skills—once her Achilles heel—have become strengths. She collaborates, communicates, and leads with growing confidence.
Designing the Future
Krisia has uncovered a passion for front-end design and prototyping, areas that blend her eye for aesthetics with her newfound coding prowess. With dreams of building a standout portfolio, she’s eager to dive deeper into the design side of web development—where function meets form, and logic meets creativity.
Her advice to anyone facing the same uncertainty she once did? Be proactive. Ask for help. Lean into discomfort. Because that’s where growth happens.
“My advice to the other students who want to pursue the same path is to be proactive and don’t hesitate to ask for or to reach out for help. Based on my experience because it really helped me a lot. I believe “No man is an island”.
So many students struggle in silence, so afraid to ask questions, but networking and seeking guidance can really make a huge difference.
I would also advise them to build a strong portfolio that will focus on their technical skills and lastly, prepare well for job interviews, know how to present yourself confidently and professionally.”
