On July 3, 2025, the university hosted its first EdTech Day, with eduCLaaS as a strategic partner and key sponsor.

The event served as both a celebration of the university’s legacy and a forward-looking showcase of how it is transforming higher education in the Philippines by integrating future-ready skills, digital platforms, and real-world learning pathways.
EdTech Day welcomed over 700 attendees who participated in a high-impact EdTech Day filled with tech-powered exhibits and thought leadership talks aimed at exploring the evolving role of digital innovation in education.
During the welcome address, the president of Baliuag University, Dr. Patricia B. Lagunda emphasized the institution’s forward-looking vision, stating: “Baliuag University has always been about quality education that transforms lives, and today, we’re doubling down on our commitment to technology and innovation-driven learning.”
eduCLaaS Founder and CEO, Mr. Leslie Loh, delivered a keynote titled “AI and the Future of Learning and Work,” addressing the impact of AI on education and workforce.
Mr.Loh emphasized the accelerating pace of digital disruption, Citing Walt Disney’s vision of the future, Mr. Loh noted that by 2026, only 50 people may be needed to produce what took 500 a decade ago—thanks to AI tools like Toonstar which now enable the creation of full animated episodes 80% faster and 90% cheaper than industry norms.
“The pandemic has accelerated digital transformation by seven years,” Mr. Loh noted, referencing a McKinsey study that foresees the workplace requiring 55% more technological skills than today. He stressed that such rapid change demands a new approach to learning and talent development.
“Traditional one-size-fits-all educational models can no longer keep up with the speed of change,” Mr.Loh said. “Students today are being prepared for jobs that may not even exist by the time they graduate. Rather than competing with AI, they must learn to collaborate with it.”
The event also reinforced the ongoing Baliuag University x eduCLaaS dual-track program, which combines CHED-recognized academic curriculum with eduCLaaS’s digital bootcamps and paid apprenticeships.
This innovative model addresses the growing demand for job-ready graduates who possess both local academic credentials and globally competitive skills through work-integrated project-based learning.
The program equips SHS/K–12 graduates with real-world industry experience and a professional portfolio through a flexible, skills-first pathway that leads to a fully CHED recognized bachelor’s degree from Baliuag University—ensuring career readiness, public sector eligibility, and access to further academic opportunities.
This partnership between eduCLaaS and Baliuag University blends academic legacy with innovation and tech-driven learning, setting a new standard for future-ready education that bridges the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world employability.
