November Highlights: EducLaas Philippines Career Talks Across Schools
November has been a busy and fulfilling month for EducLaas Philippines as we connected with high school students across the country through our series of Career Talks. These events are part of our commitment to guiding the next generation in discovering their potential and making informed choices about their future. We visited six schools this month, sharing valuable insights about career paths, personal growth, and preparing for life beyond high school.
Here’s a closer look at what happened at each school and the impact of these sessions.
1. Lourdes School Quezon City: Inspiring Ambitions
Our November series kicked off at Lourdes School Quezon City, where students welcomed us with enthusiasm. The session opened with a discussion on how to identify personal strengths and match them with potential careers. We also explored the importance of adaptability in today’s ever-changing job market.
The students actively participated in the Q&A portion, where they shared their dreams and concerns about their career choices. One standout moment was when a student asked about how technology will shape careers in the next decade. This sparked a lively conversation on the significance of staying updated and acquiring tech-related skills.
2. St. James Academy Malabon: Focusing on Opportunities
Our visit to St. James Academy Malabon was equally memorable. The students showed a keen interest in learning about various industries and career trends. We discussed how choosing a college course can align with long-term career goals, highlighting the importance of research and self-awareness.
An interactive activity allowed students to map out their aspirations, helping them visualize their journey from high school to their dream careers. This hands-on approach received positive feedback, as students found it easier to set achievable goals.
3. Lourdes School Mandaluyong: Building Confidence
Lourdes School Mandaluyong was next on our itinerary. Here, the focus was on building self-confidence and improving decision-making skills. Our speakers emphasized how students can overcome self-doubt and take proactive steps toward their goals.
Students were particularly engaged in a segment that explored future careers in healthcare, technology, and education. Many expressed interest in knowing how to excel in these fields, prompting a detailed discussion on the skills and mindset required to succeed.
4. Sacred Heart Tacloban: Embracing Growth
Our visit to Sacred Heart Tacloban marked a significant moment as we brought our Career Talk series to the Visayas region. Despite the physical distance, the connection we felt with the students was strong and inspiring.
The session emphasized the value of perseverance and continuous learning. Students were reminded that challenges are opportunities to grow and develop resilience. An inspiring testimonial from a former student of Sacred Heart Tacloban, who is now thriving in her career, left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
5. Montessori Academy of Valenzuela: Nurturing Dreams
At Montessori Academy of Valenzuela, we found an eager audience ready to explore the many paths their futures could take. The students appreciated practical tips on time management and how to balance academics with extracurricular activities.
A highlight of the event was a small group activity where students worked together to brainstorm career options based on their interests and talents. The session ended with a motivational talk encouraging students to pursue their passions fearlessly.
6. University of Baguio: Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders
Our November Career Talks concluded at the University of Baguio, where senior high school students eagerly participated in our discussions. The focus was on leadership skills and their importance in various professions.
We shared stories of young professionals who became leaders in their fields by starting with small, consistent steps. The session also covered how to build a strong resume and prepare for interviews, topics that resonated with students preparing for their next academic and professional milestones.
The Bigger Picture: Why Career Talks Matter
Career Talks are more than just one-time events—they are opportunities to spark inspiration, provide clarity, and instill confidence in young minds. At EducLaas Philippines, we aim to bridge the gap between high school education and real-world opportunities, ensuring students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed.
This November, our journey across six schools highlighted the unique needs and aspirations of Filipino students. From career advice to personal development, these sessions were tailored to address the specific concerns of each audience, leaving a meaningful impact on everyone involved.
Looking Ahead
As we wrap up November, we are excited to continue our mission in the coming months. Our goal is to reach even more schools, inspire more students, and create a stronger foundation for their future success.
To all the students, teachers, and schools who welcomed us this month, thank you for making these Career Talks memorable. We look forward to seeing how you will turn your dreams into reality.
